Situated at the top of the 24-storey Goldfields House in South Yarra, Melbourne, is Californian inspired Beverly Rooftop. Originally intended as a Friday night retreat for resident office workers, the Beverly evolved into a bar and dining destination topped with remarkable panoramic views of the city.
The flawless experience transitions from outdoor lounges into a warm dining area thanks to the retractable roof, allowing guests to shift from cocktails and catch ups at dusk, into leisurely dining experiences. Mimicking the palette of Southern California and muted tones of the surrounding cityscape, the furnishings and fixtures reflect earthy terracotta, gold and rust tones, with accents of rich forest green reflected in our designs Sunrise by Fischbacher 1819 and Fontaine by Zepel.
Architectural Designer Mitchell & Eades have used the furniture to section the space, situating Beverly armchairs by Mint Furniture upholstered in our textural bouclé Fontaine in the main dining area, while bar chairs in the classic awning stripe Sunrise sit under the industry-first retractable roof system by Tilt Industrial Design. The embracing Beverley armchairs create comfort and intimacy while the tactility of Fontaine in Mustard adds sensory and visual warmth. The generously sized and sumptuous ‘Sunrise’ bar chairs are padded for extreme comfort and fully upholstered in the design, including the chair legs, creating a bold finish. This multi-purpose upholstery is specifically designed for outdoor applications, in a spinneret-dyed acrylic it boasts hard-wearing, water-repellent properties.
The interplay of texture and colour from the artisanal terrazzo tables, travertine floors, curved timber fixtures to the earthy toned bouclé’s and striped furnishings reflect Southern California and celebrity glamour. This mastery is completed by the 270-degree tableau of skyscrapers and ambitious menu of signature Los Angeles dishes.
