What is the Organic Content Standard?
Organic cotton fibres under this certification are produced according to organic agricultural standards which safeguard the health of soils, ecosystems, and people.
The goal of the International Organic Content Standard is to increase the initiative of organic agriculture, and provide companies with a standard with which they can easily verify the organic nature of the composition of products.
Organic Content Standard (OCS)
The organic content used in our eco designs are certified under the Organic Content Standard. This means that the fabric design has been verified as containing ‘authentic’ organic content that’s been manufactured within sustainable regulations. There are no artificial chemicals or genetically modified organisms permitted under these organic guidelines, and instead natural processes are incorporated which benefit the environment. An advancement that brings peace of mind that the fabrics you choose are sustainable and produced according to strictly monitored organic standards.
We are delighted to include fabric designs to our range that contain organic fibre certified under the Organic Content Standard - (OCS) cotton.
The below are the two specific standards we are currently working under:
OCS 100: certifies the product is composed with over 95% organic fibres that have been tracked through the production chain and segregated to prevent co-mingling with other fibres.
OCS Blended: are for fabrics containing between 5% - 95% organic cotton and can be used for blends that contain any fibre, including conventional cotton.
This important certification brings peace of mind that the fabrics you choose are sustainable and produced according to strictly monitored organic standards. We are currently working towards ensuring that many of our fabrics adhere to stringent environmental standards relating to manufacture and sustainability.
